Set A Timer

5-Minute Timer

Five minutes is the everyday reset. It is enough for a short guided-breathing or meditation session, a herbal tea steep, a quick tidy of the desk before you start, or a genuine break between tasks that stops one bleeding into the next. Long enough to feel restorative, short enough that you will not lose the thread of what you were doing. Start it, step away, and come back when it sounds.

Frequently asked questions

What is a five-minute timer good for?
Short breaks between tasks, a brief breathing or meditation session, steeping herbal tea, letting cooked rice rest, or boxing in a quick tidy-up so it does not expand to fill your morning.
Does it keep time if I lock my phone?
The end time is tracked accurately regardless, but the alarm can be delayed by up to a minute if the tab is backgrounded — and a locked or sleeping screen, especially on an iPhone, may not alert you at all; a closed tab will not either. Keep the tab open with the screen awake, and on iPhone flip the mute switch off.

This timer keeps the exact time even if you switch tabs. If this tab or your browser closes, nothing can alert you at the exact finish time — there's no server behind this, by design. Come back any time and we'll tell you honestly how long ago it ended.
