Frequently asked questions

What does AMRAP stand for?
As Many Rounds As Possible — or As Many Reps As Possible — within a set time. You repeat a fixed sequence of movements and count how far you get before the clock hits zero.
How is an AMRAP scored?
By the number of complete rounds you finish, plus any additional reps into the next round — so a score might read "12 rounds + 8 reps." Keeping an accurate count during the workout is essential.
How should I pace it?
Steadily. Pick a round pace you can sustain for the whole cap rather than sprinting the first few rounds. Even or slightly negative splits — finishing faster than you started — almost always beat going out too hard and fading.
Can I change the time cap?
Yes — set any countdown length before you start. Common caps run from 5 to 20 minutes. Use the copy-link button to share the exact cap with training partners.
Will the final alarm fire if I set my phone down and it locks?
While this tab stays open the alarm is reliable, though a backgrounded tab can delay it by up to a minute. A closed tab will not alert you at all — there is no server behind the timer. On iPhone, keep the side mute switch off so the alarm actually sounds.

This timer keeps the exact time even if you switch tabs. If this tab or your browser closes, nothing can alert you at the exact finish time — there's no server behind this, by design. Come back any time and we'll tell you honestly how long ago it ended.
